Clear® Opens Enrollment for Fast Pass at Little Rock National Airport. Chamber of Commerce Cuts Ribbon; Discount Offered for All Government Employees.
LITTLE ROCK, Clear®, the leading service provider of registered traveler (RT) lanes at U.S. airports, announced today the opening of the Clear enrollment center at Little Rock National Airport. Clear’s enrollment center at Little Rock National is located on the baggage/ticketing level, near the escalators. Its hours of operation are 5am-7pm daily.
Clear will serve all travelers on all airlines out of the Airport when it opens its security checkpoint lane at Little Rock National Airport later this month.
Clear has enrolled over 54,000 travelers nationwide. It provides members with a biometric identity card that allows them expedited access through airport security checkpoints for an annual fee of $99.95, once they are pre-screened and approved by the Transportation Security Administration. Applicants start their membership at flyclear.com and complete the process in person at an enrollment center where their biometrics (fingerprints and iris images) are captured.
Last week, Clear announced a discount for all local, state and federal government employees. Government employees must enroll at www.flyclear.com/government to receive 13 months for the price of an annual Clear membership.
Deborah Schwartz, executive director at Little Rock National, said providing “superior customer service is one of the major goals” at the Airport and that “we are proud of the fact that Little Rock National is on the cutting edge in terms of offering the Registered Traveler program.” Schwartz said that the Airport “is pleased that we are affiliated with the company that launched the first RT program in the nation and the company that operates in more airports than any other.”
“We’re delighted to add Little Rock to our fast-growing national network,” said Clear founder and CEO Steven Brill. “This is a vibrant city that is the center of an exciting region full of business travelers whom we know will appreciate the Airport’s leadership in deploying Clear’s cutting edge technology and common sense approach to aviation security. I’m particularly pleased,” Brill added, “that the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and Poe Travel, both represented here today at the enrollment center, recognize that their business travelers can save time and avoid hassle as they travel out of Little Rock and around the country, where they will find Clear lanes. And, with Clear’s national network expanding so rapidly this summer and fall, it’s no longer a question of ‘if’ or ‘when’ registered traveler will be a far-flung national network, but ‘how fast.’ ”
“We appreciate the Airport’s hard work and cooperation, as well as that of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in facilitating a launch within eight weeks of the contract being awarded,” Brill continued. “All of these busy officials went the extra mile to put Clear in place quickly so that travelers in this region can now enjoy the predictable, fast and hassle-free service that their fellow frequent fliers – from JFK to San José – have come to expect.”
“We’re pleased that Little Rock Airport has become one of the early adopters of this revolutionary service for travelers. Not only will Clear provide Little Rock’s business community with a more predictable experience through security at our Airport, but around the country,” said Jay Chesshir, President and CEO, Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Tony Poe, marketing director for Poe Travel, is eager to tell his clients about Clear. “Poe Travel offers clients innovative and creative solutions for fantastic trips. Clear is something we were immediately interested in telling our clients about because it offers a pioneering solution to the least glamorous part of travel: airport security.” Little Rock joins Clear’s growing national network.
Clear cards are currently accepted at:
Clear lanes will soon open at:
Other airports expected to launch RT programs this fall include Washington, DC (Reagan and Dulles), Denver, and Atlanta, all of whom have issued or, in the case of Atlanta, are about to issue Requests for Proposals. Because of the TSA’s requirement that all RT cards be interoperable, Clear cards will be recognized at all of these airports no matter which service provider wins these bids. Thus, Clear is already marketing and, in some cases, setting up enrollment centers in each of these cities, and using national marketing partnerships with major travel companies, such as Hyatt Hotels and AirTran Airways to supplement these efforts. Currently, Clear enrollment centers are located in airports with Clear programs and also at convenient city locations, such as the San Francisco Hyatt (Embarcadero) and New York’s Grand Central Hyatt.
