Clear® Fast Lane Opens at Albany International Airport.Discount offered on enrollment for all government employees.

NEW YORK, Clear®, the leading service provider of registered traveler (RT) lanes at U.S. airports, announced today the opening of the Clear lane at Albany International Airport. Clear now serves travelers on all airlines out of the Albany Airport. The Clear lane is open from 4:30am–7pm daily.

Clear opened its enrollment center at Albany International Airport’s Main Terminal two weeks ago to accept in person enrollments, which have been steadily increasing since the center’s launch. The enrollment center is located across from ticketing counters on the lower level. Its hours of operation are 5am-7pm daily.

On Monday, Clear announced a discount for all local, state and federal government employees. Government employees, enrolling at www.flyclear.com/government, receive 13 months for the price of an annual Clear membership.

Albany International joins Clear’s growing national network of fast pass lanes now in place at Orlando, JFK, San José, Cincinnati, Newark and Indianapolis International Airports. Clear will launch lanes at Little Rock National and Westchester (NY) County Airports later this month – and at LaGuardia in September. And, Clear has been selected by the San Francisco Airport Commission after a public competitive bid. Subject to final Board of Supervisors approval of its contract, Clear will launch at SFO in September.

Any Clear card purchased at any location can be used at all Registered Traveler airports.

Clear has enrolled over 53,000 members. It provides its members with a biometric identity card that allows them expedited access through airport security checkpoints for an annual fee of $99.95, once they are pre-screened and approved by the Transportation Security Administration. Applicants start their membership at flyclear.com and complete the process in person at an enrollment center where their biometrics (fingerprints and iris images) are captured.

“Albany International Airport is delighted to be one of the first airports in the nation to offer our travelers the advantages of the Clear registered traveler program,” said David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority. “Clear will enable our passengers to better plan their trips by offering immediate access to the Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint here in Albany and at many of the major connecting hubs that serve Albany-bound passengers.”

“The initial interest in Albany is encouraging and we’re delighted to be able to extend a discount to the public servants that serve this state,” said Steven Brill, founder and CEO of Clear. “With addition of Albany to Westchester, LaGuardia, Newark and JFK, New York has become Clear’s biggest operation, which is especially gratifying for us because New York is our home state. And with our national network expanding so rapidly this summer and fall, it’s no longer a question of ‘if’ or ‘when’ Registered Traveler will be a far-flung national network, but ‘how fast.’”

“We’re also pleased,” Brill added, “to be announcing our discount for public servants at the same time that we are launching in our state’s capital.”

Clear's new verification kiosk, with state-of-the-art shoe scanner technology, has been installed at the Clear lanes at JFK and all other Clear locations. The TSAapproved kiosk is in use today at the Clear lane in Orlando - where members can, in most instances, leave their shoes on as they pass through the security checkpoint. The shoe scanning technology will roll out at all other terminals as soon as TSAapproved protocols are in place there. Another technology is expected to exempt Clear members from removing their suit coats and other outer garments in the coming months. The next technology in development is a scanner that will allow a laptop to stay in its case.
