Albany Clear Lane Usage Surges Past 10,000; New Airport Launches Help to Spur Enthusiasm Nationwide

ALBANY, NY – APRIL 24, 2008 – Clear®, the fast pass for airport security, announced that more than 10,000 cardholders have now passed through its lanes at the Albany International Airport, since the program began last summer. Clear has signed up over 145,000 people nationwide.

“Clear has provided Albany International Airport travelers with a new level of customer service that provides measurable and welcome results to our passengers,” said David E. Langdon, Chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority.

"From the first day the lane opened, Clear members from Clear Airports such as Indianapolis and San José used the Albany Clear lane,” said Allison Beer, Clear’s SVP of Corporate Development. "Albany is a major business traveler destination and the state's capital so it is not surprising that usage at the Clear lane continues to increase steadily,” Beer added.

Members at the Albany Clear lanes weigh in about their experience:

“Makes me less stressed at the airport – I know I’ll have time to do things before departure.”

Jen Adams, Clear member

I can arrive closer to the flight time and be more productive with my time.”

Richard J. Van Patten, Clear member

“It makes going through security more hassle-free, especially as a frequent flyer.”

Kathy MacGregor, Clear member

“Reduced some personal stress at airport check-in and created a smaller amount of extra time at the airport.”
Dr. Robert Wishnoff, Clear member

Clear members are pre-screened by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and, after application approval, are provided with a card that allows exclusive access to Clear’s security lanes nationwide. The innovative, high-tech Clear Card verifies a fingerprint or iris image selected by members during enrollment.

Clear operates 30 enrollment stations across the country and also brings mobile enrollment onsite to businesses nationwide.  Late last month, Clear launched lanes in Washington DC’s Reagan and Dulles Airports, and at the Oakland International Airport.  The Atlanta Airport expects to launch a fast pass program soon.  Clear Cards will be accepted in Atlanta no matter what provider the Airport selects. New Clear openings can be found at flyclear.com/enrollment.
