Virgin Atlantic To Launch Clear® Registered Traveler
At JFK Terminal 4. First Airline to Host Registered Traveler at Two US Airports.
NEW YORK – Clear® Registered Traveler announced today that Virgin Atlantic Airways will bring Clear to travelers at JFK's Terminal 4. Last week, Virgin Atlantic announced that it will also sponsor Clear at Newark's Terminal B. Online enrollment for both the JFK and Newark programs are live today at flyclear.com. Clear's airport enrollment facilities will open in February and the programs will be fully operational by mid-March.
The registered traveler program allows business travelers and other frequent fliers to pay an annual fee of $99.95 to provide their background information for pre-screening by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and, if approved, receive a biometric identity card that will allow them expedited access through airport security checkpoints.
"Launching the Clear Registered Traveler program at both JFK and Newark is an important way to enhance Virgin Atlantic's new schedule of 6 flights a day from the New York area to London Heathrow," said Chris Rossi, Vice President Sales and Marketing, North America. "Superior customer service and stress-free travel are two things that our travelers have come to expect, and Clear will now serve to enhance the Virgin Atlantic experience at both JFK's Terminal 4 and Newark's Terminal B."
Last month, Clear began a national roll-out of its program. It launched lanes at JFK Terminal 7, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and San Jose Airports. Clear has been operational at the Orlando Airport since July 2005 and now has over 36,000 participants nationwide.
"We are pleased that Virgin Atlantic through its partnership with Clear at both Newark and JFK will now allow nearly 10 million passengers to access Clear lanes as they fly from those airports," said Clear VP of Corporate Development Allison Beer.
